Guidelines for your design
Using water-based resist/gutta, draw out design. Either remove auto fade lines with water to see your gutta design clearly or leave and the paint will make them disappear as you paint.
Paint and have fun!
Use Dye Na Flow in loads of ways - great for salt effect, mixed on the silk blended with Lumiere metallic (both heat fixed), use white #830 to make range of colours pastel, tone down Dye Na Flow with 25% water for washes or use full strength for intense colour.
When your design is finished remove from painting frame and heat fix per instructions on the bottle - 2 to 5 minutes with a dry iron. Then your silk is washable or you may dry clean it.
Now you have your piece of cloth ready to cut out and make your waistcoat per the patterns instructions - I can't sew worth a bean and pay a men's tailor and it's like Christmas when I receive it back all beautifully made up!
Note due to the light silk, the vest is backed with non-fusible backing and backing with a regular men's waistcoat acetate.
