Jacquard Acid Dyes are concentrated, powdered, hot water dyes that produce the most vibrant possible results on protein fibres including silk, wool, cashmere, alpaca, feathers, and most nylons.
Although Jacquard produces other dyes that will colour these fibres, Jacquard acid dyes are the best. Don't be alarmed by the name, the only acid involved is the vinegar that you add. A 14gm (1/2 oz.) jar will colour almost a kilo (two pounds) of fibre depending on the shade. If you can do a load of laundry, you can use these dyes. It's that easy. In addition to garment dyeing in a washing machine, you can use them to paint or print. Jacquard Acid Dyes are extremely brilliant and colourfast.
They produce a uniform dye job, which is always a challenge for dyers. But most importantly, the colours are a beautiful, pure, transparent and luscious enough to dive into. The results and ease of use makes this dye a favourite with our artist customers.
